Broadband - Slow Speeds

Broadband - Slow Speeds
If you are experiencing slower than normal broadband speeds, please try the below steps.

Reboot the Router
Try turning off your broadband router for 15 minutes , then turn back on again and re-test. Sometimes a reboot will resolve the problem and restore normal speeds.

Usage?
Could there be something on your network that is using a lot of bandwidth? This can vary , for example are too many users downloading lots of data at the same time, or a Server performing updates throughout the day?

Replace Cables
If spare cables and Line filters (if applicable) are available then replace these to see if the speeds improve.

Run a speed test
Go to a speed testing website such as https://www.speedtest.net/ or http://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com/
Note - the speed test must be done by connecting directly to the router using a LAN cable.  Speed tests done over Wifi are not accurate
Run this several times to see if the speeds are consistently the same or vary. This could indicate an intermittent connection that could be resolved with a router reboot.
